Further evidence of what we have been saying all along about using caution with HTML 5. The experience suffers greatly with inappropriate usage. However on the bright side when used wisely it can be a major asset such as QuickPrints checkout, Loyalty points etc. These features are static do not rely on gestures, fast processing speeds, image manipulation and interaction so HTML5 does not cause harm but is advantageous. I look forward to co creating our governance over HTML5 usage with our dev teams.

“The performance of the stock has been disappointing,” Zuckerberg said. “We care about our shareholders…we are going to do the things we think that add value over the long-term.”

He said he thinks the biggest mistake Facebook made as a company was betting too much on HTML 5, which cost the company two years. “But we’re coming out of that now,” he said.
